History between Celades and Pellegrino

Valencia CF's meeting with CD Leganés at Mestalla this weekend will be a reunion of sorts for the two coaches in the dugouts. Albert Celades and Mauricio Pellegrino are former teammates from their respective spells at FC Barcelona, playing under Louis Van Gaal and winning the LaLiga title together in 1998/99.
Celades and Pellegrino coincided just the one year. The Argentine would go on to sign for Valencia CF, where he won the Spanish Supercopa, European Supercup, two LaLiga titles and the UEFA Cup.
The year they spent on the same squad, the duo were part of the 1998/99 side eliminated from the Copa del Rey by eventual winners VCF, losing 2-3 at the Camp Nou and 4-3 at Mestalla.
Both went on to become coaches, and Pellegrino would have a brief tenure at Valencia CF. Celades faces his first home match in LaLiga on Sunday, and it comes against a team led by a familiar face.
